JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Sales and Marketing is a key participant in the success of the company. The candidate for this position must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment running multiple projects for a variety of products simultaneously. The candidate must possess strong logic, excellent management skills and superb closing abilities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Direct accountability to manage and cultivate the sales and marketing staff
  • Formulate and implement strategic sales and marketing plans
  • Oversee all necessary activities to fulfill strategic objectives
  • Identify and approach potential new clients, converting potential clients to customers
  • Nurture existing relationships to maximize revenue
  • Develop existing marketing activities to ensure awareness of the company among all target groups
  • Provide timely and reliable management information
  • Work toward building the overall strength and performance of the sales, marketing teams and the company as a whole
  • Drive sales through marketing channels to include magazine ads, tradeshows, lead generation and other marketing methods
  • Perform market analysis to determine market conditions, competitive landscape and SWOTs
  • 1. Sales
  • •a. Proven ability to directly close sales
  • •b. Must make sales calls with poise, credibility and influence
  • •c. Proven ability to lead the sales process by example
  • •d. Proven ability to hire, train, recruit, evaluate and cultivate a winning sales staff
  • •e. Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology
  • •f. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results
  • 2. New Business Development And Direct Marketing
  • •a. Suggest viable target clients and industries, sourcing relevant data as necessary
  • •b. Approach potential clients through various channels, including cold calling and direct mail campaigns
  • •c. Use knowledge of the markets and the industry to promote introductions and sales
  • •d. Arrange and lead new business meetings, delivering sales presentation in a polished, professional manner
  • •e. Evaluate marketing methods and determine when, what and how to market the company’s products
  • •f. Be familiar with the range of services offered by HSI and understand how to identify client requirements that can be met by these services
  • 3. Client Retention
  • •a. Maintain awareness of the company among existing prospects through periodic follow-up calls
  • •b. Oversee production and performance of all programs
  • 4. Advertising and PR
  • •a. Analyze advertising opportunities and propose campaigns where strong ROI is expected
  • •b. Negotiate pricing with publishers
  • •c. Oversee media, layout and design of advertisements
  • •d. Identify need for production of new marketing collateral and updates to existing materials; oversee production
  • •e. Identify PR opportunities and submit press releases
  • 5. Database Maintenance
  • •a. Oversee day-to-day maintenance of the client databases, ensuring that new leads are added in a timely manner and integrity of data is maintained
  • •b. Ensure that employees at all levels are following prospect management procedures and policies
  • 6. Website
  • •a. Ensure company websites continue to rank high on major search engines for targeted keywords
  • •b. Oversee day-to-day updates and maintenance
  • 7. Reporting
  • •a. Review existing data collection systems, suggest and implement improvements
  • •b. Organize, analyze and strategize client data, business inquiries, conversions and website activity
  • •c. Present monthly report to Upper Management, analyzing performance and proposing future activities and direction

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • The preferred candidate will have a Marketing Degree.
  • 10+ years experience in the Sales, Marketing or Advertising fields
  • 5+ years prior sales experience
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks
  • Must have proven effective public speaking and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management
  • Proficiency in using all Microsoft Office desktop software: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills and use of Microsoft Excel
  • Candidate will be able to actively implement new marketing programs A-Z
